Patch 1.2.0

All the previous patches trying to combat the infinite combos and game getting too easy to actually even fail the further it got on didn't really seem to work well enough. Now I'm adding even more things to fight against it and also fixing quite a lot of found issues.

Curses

Now the game will periodically add a "cursed skill" to you which will make staying alive harder. The first curse is added after three minutes and then additionals will be on two minute intervals.

These curses are similar or even same as the negative effects that appear on daily runs. The new ones added are also introduced to dailies as well. A few positive effects were also added to daily pool.

New skills

ESP has been on my todo list since the original jam version of the game. It will always display the spot where the next enemy spawn will happen for you to plan accordingly.

Chaos skill in my opinion was one of the most fun skills in the game even though on the other hand it is quite a problematic one too causing a lot of maybe too powerful combos. So what more options do I have but to add some more such skills that can lead to some weird interactions.

Entropy is a direct upgrade to Chaos and it will only be offered once you've already acquired Chaos skill itself. It will allow you to get second copies of some skills that normally were not repeatable but with different colors obviously. Now you can theoretically have any color match trigger healing for example if you get Chaos, Entrypy and six copies of the skill. I'm eager to see how busted this can actually become.

Nerf Terraformer

I don't really like nerfing stuff but it just had to be done. The skill was straight up too powerful and always a key to those infinite combos as it was the main way around the brick tiles that appear more and more the longer the combo. Now it will not be triggered on teleports.

Another key skill Blink was also changed slightly. It was already supposed to only teleport to blue tiles (not sure if it actually worked quite right) but the description of the skill didn't mention it but now it does. And the color can also be affected by skills like Chaos.

Some quality of life stuff

These were suggested/requested by one of the top players, Brushinobi. Now when you are picking new skills and hover over them, all the copies you already have of that skill will be highlighted (with the color of the skill too) so you can more easily track down whether or not you might wanna pick another level of Poison tile for example. The skill names now also have a level indicator showing that you already have that skill previously.

More minor nerfs

It's not really a nerf but the repeatable skills will now have a maximum number of copies you can acquire. In some cases this actually helps you though as you wouldn't want a 11th copy of a damage dealing skill when even the thoughest enemies only have 10 HP. Of course for some skills (healing ones for example) actually are negatively affected by this but should make the game more balanced. There is also a maximum HP limit added so you can't just infinitely get more tanky.

Fresh start

As the balancing and overall scoring changed quite much with this version, I'm wiping the leaderboards clean. Or the old one can still be viewed from the in game change log just like the original jam version leaderboards too.

Bugs fixed

And to close it off, here is a list of other most notable bugs that were finally fixed.

- Titan's Will / Giant's Might sometimes killed you even if there was a tile to dodge to

- Fixed issue with the daily modifier that makes healing deal damage instead

- Fixed bug that causes leaderboards to break when there is a 4 bil score ;)

- Fixed broken death message for cockatrice petrification death

- Loads of missing null checks causing a freeze or crash
