I found a bug. I got pretty far during eternity. I have over 36 pages of cargo. When i rolled to fire on infinite fleet 30, the game just stood still. Not quite frozen, but no option to shoot or do anything. 

Also, besides that, can you add some kind of rebirth modifier? After getting an absurd amount of boons, op crew, and too much cargo(the game shrieked a lot), it's not possible to lose. This makes something like legacy useless.

Restart is in the esc menu, it will also trigger legacy.

Hmm, weird, do the enemy crew member hats still not work correctly?

When a pirate ship has a Navigator and you decline, the crow's nest appears but the Navigator doesn't go in there. (sorry for no picture, I'll add it if I see it.)

can anyone send me a picture of your character as the frog, with the mark, the cross, pentagram and the king hat?

I think there are multiple (4+) different outcomes of those combinations depending on the order you get them.

Yea I nerfed his scaling so it's not flat 10% per level but less and less every level past the first.

I found a bug. If you dequip starting Pentagram and change to a different boon, your character is still red

Also, what does leech even do?

It does what it says on the tin. You can use a pearl and it isn't consumed but will damage one neighbouring plated cargo dice instead.

“Controversial” ranking reasons:

  • Navi being so high up in late game is due to you probably having “Eye” trinket by that point. You really want to avoid annoying clam bosses, meet uncollectors, and hopefully get a green pearl, so Navi is actually underated late game.
  • Bosun being in C-Tier in late game although your cargo gets one-shotted anyways is due to Dandy’s bribes. Especially if your Dandy isn’t overbuffed(Like 50% bribe), having higher valued spice matters.
  • Boomer dropping to B-Tier in late game is due to bribing builds and parrot swarm builds.
  • Mate being in C-Tier instead of D in late-game is due to green pearl. If you didn’t know, Mate’s ability doesn’t work in endless mode.
  • Scout is very useful late game due to divine being fights and especially Dark Navis.

is it normal i got to shoot the iceberg trice ? 

the percentage appeared at the last shot (100%) and then i rammed it and got the exact same crew twice but the icebreg still fell and showed the failure message

You can shoot the iceberg as many times as you need as long as you don't get over 100%. But the rest doesn't sound normal

I love the fact that if you pair the handler (or just birds in general) with splash damage, the birds also do splash damage. I've tried to (and successfully) gotten this combo many times and it helps to take down enemies early game and whatnot pretty easily if you try hard enough haha

This error is really annoying. I've been trying to hunt it down without any luck really. Visited the ship probably close to a hundred times with different setups but always seems to return just fine for me.

Do you remember if the cap was visible on the uncollector ship after exiting? Did he do the jump animation back to your ship?

And of course any potential differences you might have noticed between those times it happened and those where it didn't.

Inside the ship = Yes. Afterwards = No.

I noticed that Drill-Off offers an offline version. Could you also provide an offline version for Chop Ahoo? Thank you.

This was made from the group up to be a browser game (made for a JavaScript game jam) and thus can't easily be ported to any other platform. There is however a downloadable version on Steam but that is basically its own isolated browser where the game is running locally. Therefore it's quite resource intensive.

Oh, I wasn‘t aware of the existence of a Steam version. I simply wanted to be able to play without an internet connection, so I'll go ahead and purchase the Steam version. Thank you!

EVERYONE: My friends(p3nguins, DaFAtCh1ck3n, 92AAA, and like 5 others whose Itch accounts I can't remember)  and I have made a 40-page Google Doc on everything related to Coup Ahoo. Took us a month to make. Has everything from all the crew members(including divine and underworld ones) and what they do, to trinkets, suggested builds, all encounters, a tier list, and just random stuff.  Enjoy.

Also, you can comment on anything that you want to add, we will fix it or reply in at most a few hours.

we made it on a school account, so you have to be in our school board to view it, so I made a copy of it on my not school account. 

It still doesn't open. It says that there's an internal error

when the game updated i lost all my progress and the music stopped working do you know why?

Hmm, nothing but guesses really. It really shouldn't do that.

For music maybe you've accidentally hit N or M which toggles mute. Are the sound effects still playing? What about if you check the menu, is the music on there?

You sure you are using the same browser as last time and it wasn't an incognito tab? And what browser is that by the way? Also, when was the last time you played? It's very weird that the music state seems to have saved but the overall progress wouldn't have.

i played last on 1.3.9 i'm using the same browser chrome and it isn't an incognitto tab but i got the music fixed

I don't really know what's up with that. The crew pages should always start at left page but for some reason for you it doesn't look like it does? This filler page should be there when it would start on an even page.

Could you show a screenshot of your table of contents first page so I can maybe figure out what missing page there is causing this?

Super weird. Made same setup where one of the cargo pages is missing so that crew sections lands on page 16. The filler page isn't there for me as it shouldn't and the crew members always start on left page. I guess the filler page is still there for you pushing the crew members off by a page?

Hello!

I finally had time to test it more thoroughly, and I must say it runs way smoother now, particularly in the end game, but on low end browser like my Kindle Paperwhite, the game still lags a little, but the most annoying is the zoom level changing each frame.

I think adding an option to rotate the screen 90 degrees would help a lot to remove that problem, but it might require too big changes (Is there a way to do it without changing each drawing and positionment instructions?) Anyway I understand e-reader aren't made to play games, but it would still be nice...

Good to hear that it's at least somewhat better. Zooming and animations don't really matter on the performance here at all. Everything is drawn again every frame, so it doesn't matter if something is drawn on position x or y. That's a bit of a drawback of not having built this on some proper "smart" engine and having my own (limitation coming from the original 13 kilobyte size limit).

You mean that the game would kinda be rotated 90 degrees? Kindle doesn't do rotation like phones do? Might be pretty doable...

And of course I'll still try to optimize it in different ways to run smoother on lower end devices too.

The log book could have better UI, clicking 30 times to get to a new entry is quite annoying, perhaps tapping on a title in the table of contents could send you to rhat page.

I think you really need to nerf parrot swarm builds with splash damage as it makes the late game very uncreative as there's only one build that really works now

I had a chance to get boomer but triple spy was just funny

What does very efficient at investigations and very good at learning new things even do? I have figured out the other three perks but these two seem to do NOTHING

I think that the first one makes it less likely for investigation to fail (even though my crew member failed when i sent him for the first time). I'm not sure about the second one but i think it raises the level cap of the crew member

Yup, just adds a chance for bad investigations to be good instead. Weird that you guys haven't noticed what the learning perk does, it removes the level cap from that crew member so they can be upgraded several times.

Does that mean if you have two bard in your crew they upgrade even more? That's pretty nice!

Yes but not because of that perk. Here powder monkey ends up being lvl 2 + 2 + 2 (2 for each bard). If they had that fur folk perk, they could be upgraded to lvl 3 making it effective level of 7 etc.

Powder Monkey makes icebergs next to impossible since the target number is 2x the amount of dice you have. Also boost or Rosa's might without crew is also makes icebergs next to impossible

I think that's the kind of balance the creators likes: what looks good at first is not always the best thing to have.

Any plans on adding lore to the game? Also, I've playing this game for a while, and I kinda wanna make a wiki for this??? (ngl I've never tried doing this before, might need help and this whole thing feels kinda embarrassing) So yeah, just asking if you give me permission to do it

No real plans for any deep lore, I'm not much of a writer. But of course some light lore and world building is already happening with the different characters and races etc and that will probably be getting more concrete at some point.

As for a wiki, sure, go ahead!

How long have the enemy crew members worn wrong hats? Hasn't anyone noticed?

I didn't notice it until you said it. But i have a screenshot from 4th of April where all enemy crew members were wearing the same hat

I scrolled down the comments and the first instance of that was over a month ago

well i accidentally softlocked myself right before the last pre-endless ship. i'm not sure what happened here actually it had something to do with me scrolling and with autoplay. i wish i could reconfigure the auto play keybind lol
